Garden in a Box

Living in an apartment can leave you with little or no space for a garden. However, a little creativity can work around this problem to create your own little green patch on your balcony or even indoors. The best material for this type of gardening is wood. Clay or earthen pots serve well, as does plastic. Sizes will differ on the area to be fitted, and the number of plants or rows of plants you wish to plant.
Flowers and houseplants are the most decorative and appropriate for a garden box. You are not limited to decorative plants of course. Surprisingly, vegetables and herbs can do well in box-gardens too.

Ensure your box has good drainage, and place your box, if not already on your balcony, in a position with plenty of fresh air and natural light. Water your garden-box routinely (what is recommended is twice-aweek) and especially if
you find the soil dry. Early morning is often the best time when the sun is still low.
